BIM Estimating Services: Model-Based Cost Estimates for US Contractors

Turn your BIM model into an accurate, bid-ready cost estimate. We extract quantities directly from Revit and IFC models, price every scope, and update your numbers quickly when the design changes.

What Is BIM Estimating?

BIM estimating, also called 5D BIM estimating, is a method of preparing construction cost estimates using quantities taken directly from a Building Information Model. Instead of measuring from 2D drawings by hand, the estimator pulls counts, lengths, areas and volumes from the 3D model and links them to cost data. The model supplies the quantities, and the estimator adds pricing, labor, equipment and markups.

Construct Solutions Hub provides BIM estimating services from New York, NY, to general contractors, subcontractors, developers and owners across the United States. Our estimators combine model-based takeoff with professional review, so you get speed without losing accuracy.

Services

Our BIM Estimating Services

Model-Based Quantity Takeoff

We extract quantities for walls, floors, structure, doors, windows, MEP components and more from your BIM model, organized by trade and CSI division.

5D Cost Estimating

We link model quantities to pricing for materials, labor, equipment and subcontract work, so cost stays connected to the design.

Model Verification and Cleanup

Model quantities are only as good as the model. We check that elements are modeled, classified and complete, and we flag gaps before they affect your bid.

Design Change Estimating

When a revised model arrives, we compare versions and update the estimate so you can see the cost impact of each change.

How Our Budget Estimating Process Works

eceive the model

You upload your BIM files, drawings and specifications.

Model review

We check model completeness, classification and level of development.

3. Quantity extraction

We pull quantities from the model and organize them by trade.

Supplement

We add traditional takeoff for any scope the model does not cover.

Pricing

We apply current material, labor, equipment and subcontractor pricing for your area.

Review and delivery

A second review checks the numbers, then you receive an itemized estimate in Excel and PDF.

Updates

We revise the estimate when the model changes.

Our FAQs

BIM Estimating: Frequently Asked Questions

What is BIM estimating?

BIM estimating is a way of preparing construction cost estimates using quantities extracted from a Building Information Model. The model provides counts, lengths, areas and volumes, and the estimator adds pricing, labor, equipment and markups.

5D BIM adds cost to a 3D model and its schedule. The first three dimensions are the model geometry, the fourth is time, and the fifth is cost. It lets teams see how design changes affect the budget.

It can be, but only when the model is complete and well built. Model quantities can reduce manual measurement errors, yet missing or poorly modeled elements cause gaps. That is why we verify the model and supplement it with drawing-based takeoff where needed.

We accept [confirm: Revit (.rvt), IFC and Navisworks files] along with PDF plans and specifications.

Can you estimate projects that do not have a BIM model?

Yes. If there is no model, we prepare a traditional estimate from 2D drawings. See our Construction Takeoff and Building Cost Estimating services.

Yes. When you send a revised model or drawings, we update the quantities and pricing and show the cost impact.

Yes. We work remotely with clients across the United States and adjust pricing to the project location.
